SBGR Updates Update Purpose of the Report Card Signature Strategies Sustain with fidelity our system –wide standards based grading and reporting process to communicate to scholars and families each scholar’s progress toward meeting standards Separates academic and non-academic (skills/behaviors) so that academic grades are a more accurate measure of student learning and mastery of standards Placed emphasis on a “Point in Time” so that the report card is clearly indicating how a scholar is achieving at the time the standard

21 update TFL SBGR Field Test Overview Purpose of Field Test
To inform system-wide implementation of Report Card/Gradebook Revisions (in alignment to Principles of Grading) for the 2018 – 19 School Year 2 Elementary Schools 1 Middle School 1 High School Field Test Outcomes: Establish and “Sandbox” gradebook to test revisions in alignment to the Purpose of the Report Card and Principles of Grading Test a revised Report Card to align with the Purpose of the Report Card Statement and the Principles of Grading—and align with best practices Assist to Finalize SBGR Handbooks for Scholars, Staff and Families Assist to make recommendations, in alignment research and best practice, to finalize a report card, gradebook and potential policy changes for implementation in the school year Curriculum Connector Role: Receive regular updates on the SBGR Field Test Preview tools and resources that are being finalized Provide regular updates for all teachers across the system
