Hitler orders Austrian Nazis to bomb buildings and hold parades Schuschnigg holds a plebiscite to see if Austria wants to stay independent, hoping this will stop Hitler, however, this does not happen… Schuschnigg resigns when Hitler threatens to invade. The Austrian Nazis stage a coup de etat which is backed up by German invasion. Austria is now part of Germany
