Smartphone ownership is now reaching more than 50% in the UK and this is having a direct impact on the mobile payments industry with many people now carrying out transactions on their phone

3 Where are we today? Total value of mobile payments reached $240bn in 2012 10 times as many coupons are redeemed on mobile as they are via traditional channels 64% of mobile media users worldwide currently utilize their devices to conduct mobile banking up from 57% in 2011 At the end of 2012, there were 6.8 billion mobile subscriptions – that is equivalent to 96% of the world population
