6 Apostle’s Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell, The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; The Holy Catholic Church; The communion of saints; The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body; And the life everlasting. Amen

7 Today’s Psalm Reading by Barrett Hicks
Psalms 12 1 Help, LORD, for the godly are no more; the faithful have vanished from among men. 2 Everyone lies to his neighbor; their flattering lips speak with deception. 3 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips and every boastful tongue 4 that says, 'We will triumph with our tongues; we own our lips-who is our master?' 5 'Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,' says the LORD. 'I will protect them from those who malign them.' 6 And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times. 7 O LORD, you will keep us safe and protect us from such people forever. 8 The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men.

9 This Week’s Verse Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you – even Jesus. (Acts 3:19-20)

10 Conversation Festival!

11 2.Conversation A: Peter’s sermon right after the Pentecost was just overwhelming. B: Yeah? What was it about? A: It was a dramatic testimony about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, with a great exaltation that Jesus is the Messiah. B: Wow. What was the consequence of this great sermon? A: About three thousand people accepted Jesus as Lord and savior that day. B: What an amazing sermon!

12 3.Conversation A: The coming of Holy Spirit during Pentecost was so obvious. I wish I was there to witness. B: Me too. It must’ve been awesome to see Christians receiving Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. A: Well, this happens now, too. I see some people speaking in tongues in churches. B: That’s true. You can certainly see Holy Spirit working within and around you.

13 4. Conversation A: After the Pentecost Peter becomes a great preacher
4.Conversation A: After the Pentecost Peter becomes a great preacher. B: How did that happen? A: It was the power of the Holy Spirit, enabling people to a great preacher. B: I guess I can be a great preacher, too. A: Really. With a little help from the Holy Spirit, you can be a great preacher, too. Just like Peter. B: Great! I’ll pray about it.

14 5.Conversation A: The birth of church starts from the Pentecost with 12 disciples. B: Wasn’t there only 11 disciples with Judas’ absence? A: You’re absolutely correct. That’s why they had to cast lots to select Matthias to replace Judas. B: That’s brilliant!

15 6.Conversation A: The coming of Holy Spirit during Pentecost was so obvious. I wish I was there to witness. B: Me too. You can certainly see Holy Spirit working within and around you.

16 7. Conversation A: Are you ready to teach and spread the Gospel
7. Conversation A: Are you ready to teach and spread the Gospel? B: Sure. A: God tells us to go to the ends of the earth to spread the Gospel. B: It seems to be difficult to do. A: You need a help from the Holy Spirit to guide you. B: Then, it should be much easier.

17 8.Conversation A: The birth of church starts from the Pentecost with 12 disciples. B: Wasn’t there only 11 disciples with Judas’ absence? A: You’re absolutely correct. That’s why they had to cast lots to select Matthias to replace Judas. B: That’s brilliant!

18 9. Conversation A: Are you ready to teach and spread the Gospel
9.Conversation A: Are you ready to teach and spread the Gospel? B: Sure. A: God tells us to go to the ends of the earth to spread the Gospel. B: It seems to be difficult to do. A: You need a help from the Holy Spirit to guide you. B: Then, it should be much easier.

19 10. Conversation A: I’m so excited to start studying the Book of Acts
10.Conversation A: I’m so excited to start studying the Book of Acts. B: Me, too. I look forward to learning many things about the beginning of the church. A: You know who wrote the Book of Acts? B: Sure. Luke, who wrote the Book of Luke, also wrote the Book of Acts.

20 11.Conversation A: How can you believe the lie that soldiers were told to spread after bribery? B: What was the lie? A: They told a lie that Jesus’ body was stolen by his disciples while they were sleeping at night. B: If soldiers sleeping, how could they know that the disciples stole the body? A: Precisely. It’s a ridiculous lie.

21 12.Conversation A: It just amazes me how the Jewish leaders were able to ignore the direct evidence for Jesus’ resurrection. B: People can easily ignore the truth when they are blinded by money and fame. A: Not only they ignored the truth but also distorted the truth by bribing the witnesses and spreading false story. B: We should always pray not to make the same mistake that the Jewish leaders made.

22 13. Conversation A: When do you pray. B: I pray when I am in trouble
13.Conversation A: When do you pray? B: I pray when I am in trouble. A: How about when you are happy? B: When I am happy, I don’t feel like praying. A: God wants us to pray at all times, even when you are happy. It should be like breathing for us Christians. B: I see what you mean. I will try to pray at all times.

23 14.Conversation A: Why do you think women were the first ones to witness the resurrection of Jesus Christ? B: Do you mean Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Joses? A: Yes. Those two women had the privilege to see Jesus’ empty tomb for the first time. Why they? B: Well, for one thing, they were there at the tomb and they were there before any other. A: You are absolutely right. They had exceptional love and compassion for Jesus to care for.

24 15. Conversation A: When do you pray. B: I pray when I am in trouble
15.Conversation A: When do you pray? B: I pray when I am in trouble. A: How about when you are happy? B: When I am happy, I don’t feel like praying. A: You are absolutely right. They had exceptional love and compassion for Jesus to care for.

26 17.Conversation A: I was so moved when I read of the loyal women watching during Jesus’ crucifixion. B: I was too. John MacArthur said that godly women are generally more loyal than men. A: That could be true. None of the disciples except John was at the cross with Jesus, yet many women were there. B: And even today, look at how loyal the godly women of the church are at serving the Lord.

27 18. Conversation A: It just amazes me how many prophesies were fulfilled through the burial of Jesus. B: I know only one that his bones were not broken. Is there any more? A: Sure. First of all, his grave was supposed to be with the wicked people, but ended up in a rich man’s grave, as prophesied in Isaiah. And he resurrected precisely after three days as he prophesied. And these are just a few in the big list. B: Wow. I didn’t know that. The more I learn, the more it makes me to say, “Surely, He was the Son of God!”

28 19.Conversation A: I was so moved when I read of the loyal women watching during Jesus’ crucifixion. B: I was too. John MacArthur said that godly women are generally more loyal than men. A: That could be true. None of the disciples except John was at the cross with Jesus, yet many women were there. B: And even today, look at how loyal the godly women of the church are at serving the Lord.

29 20.Conversation A: The Roman soldiers mocked and flogged Jesus, not knowing who Jesus was. They demonstrated heartless cruelty out of ignorance. B: It was a shocking illustration of how man can be so evil out of ignorance. A: Jesus endured all the suffering, knowing the evil nature of man. B: Right. His suffering and blood were used to cover our sin.

30 The Lord’s Prayer Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
