2. Pablo Gonzalez, a senior at Marlton School of the Deaf, has been offered the position as a student commissioner for the state Advisory Commission on Special Education.

3. Helen Bernstein High School students garnered
20 UC acceptances. 40% of students that applied to UCs were accepted, and 72% of those who applied to 4-year colleges were accepted.

4. Noted UCLA Professor Pedro Noguera visited classes at Hawkins High School and engaged in a Restorative Justice Circle with students from the 3 co-located schools: CHAS, RISE, and C:/DGAS.

5. The Honest Co. donated $50,000 to the Grandview Blvd
The Honest Co. donated $50,000 to the Grandview Blvd. ES garden program (Garden School Foundation). Additionally, Century Fox Studios helped build a reading garden. Lastly, Snapchat is doing volunteer service for community service day.

6. Three National Merit Scholars!
The latest US News & World Report rankings of the "Best High Schools" finds LD West's Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (LACES) at #18 for California and #138 Nationally. LACES scored the highest among LAUSD schools.
