Molecular genetics seeks to identify specific genes influencing behavior
Genetic testing can now reveal at-risk populations for disease
It can also be used to discriminate against the unborn or the genetically “different”
Ethics of this type of research???

6. 14-3 What is heritability & how does it relate to individuals & groups?
The proportion of variation among individuals that we can attribute to genes

The key thing to remember is that this refers to variation within a GROUP, it does NOT refer to the impact of nature on an individual.
We can NEVER say what percentage of an individual’s traits are inherited
Even among groups heritability is influenced by environment (South Korean height vs North Korean 90%, 6 inches)
