Autotractosis is a unique disease caused by unknown factors, however, people living in areas with more technology seem to be at greater risk. The name is derived from the roots “auto” meaning self and “tract” meaning to pull and it relates to the most common symptom: an individual’s willful withdrawal from human interaction. Individuals born after 1984 are at a higher risk, and adolescents in this population are at an increased risk of contracting this disease.
