Conceptual Modeling for the Preservation of Digital Objects Modeling the dependencies of digital objects, as well as some tacit community assumptions. Automated Reasoning for Digital Preservation Allows checking (a) task performability (b) consequences of a Hypothetical Loss, and (c) identification of missing modules Allows modeling converters and emulators Automating the extraction and transformation of the embedded metadata of digital objects Enables the creation semantic-based metadata repositories Modeling and querying the provenance of digital objects We can offer training services in various topics: First we can offer training on the conceptual Modeling of Digital Objects. Specifically we can show how we can model dependencies of digital objects. GapManager is a tool that has been developed for that purpose. We can train curators/archivists to use our proposed automated reasoning that allows checking the performability of a task over a digital object, (b) can identify the consequences of a Hypothetical Loss, and (c) can identify the missing modules. The advantage of our proposed approach is that can model converters and emulators. We have designed and developed the Epimenides tool that based on this proposed approach. The extraction and the transformation of the embedded metadata on digital objects are supported by the PreScan tool that we have developed Finally we can offer training on Cidog-CRM that can be used for querying the provenance of digital objects
