3 The Squadron was formed in 1968 by local Georgetown residents.
756 Wild Goose Squadron The Squadron was formed in 1968 by local Georgetown residents. Primary Sponsor is Branch 120 Royal Canadian Legion. Actively involved in the community for almost 50 years. Paraded in the Old Armoury located on the Fairgrounds until the 80’s. Was given the name “Wild Goose” in 2007. Has a staff of four Canadian Forces officers (CIC) and four Civilian Volunteers. Is a medium sized squadron of ~55-65 cadets, that provides a wide variety of activities through out the week.

4 What is the Cadet Program?
The largest Youth Program in Canada. Approximately 55,000 Cadets across Canada, with 25,000 Air Cadets alone. Membership is open to all Canadian youth 12 to 18 years old. Cadets are NOT part of the military, nor are they expected to join. The three aims of the Program: Develop good leadership and citizenship Develop physical fitness Foster an interest in the activities of the Canadian Armed Forces

Saying YES to joining Air Cadets means saying yes to: Lots of fun! Tons of interesting activities! Making new friendships! Taking on new challenges Learning to become a Leader Opportunities that you cannot get in any other youth program!

6 All about Aviation and Aeronautics
Parade Nights We meet on Monday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:00 PM at the Col. J.R. Barber Armoury at 91 Todd Rd. in Georgetown Ontario. Cadets will learn: All about Aviation and Aeronautics Canada’s role in significant historical events The Royal Canadian Air Force Sports, fitness, and team work Drill and ceremonial

7 Mandatory Support Training
Some training takes place on weekends. This includes such activities as: Field Training Exercises Gliding days Sports/Marksmanship Days Additional training for senior cadets Annual Ceremonial Review Local opportunities for community service such as Remembrance Day Parades, Santa Claus Parade, etc…

10 The cadet program is a partnership!
Department of National Defense Responsibilities Administering and running the Training Program Providing Uniforms and training materials Officer and Civilian Instructor Staff training Air Cadet League Responsibilities Local fundraising activities Recruiting cadets, staff, and volunteers Providing facilities and support as required

11 What does the program cost?
The Air Cadet Program is jointly funded by the Department of National Defence, in partnership with the civilian Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL). There is an annual assessment fee of $50, payable to the ACL, with a charitable donation receipt. The ACL requires local community support to meet obligations that include accommodations, training aids and equipment, and program enhancements not otherwise provided. In addition there is a commitment to purchasing one book of lottery tickets ($50) to help support the gliding program. This is refundable by selling the tickets.

A valid Health Card, in the youth’s name.
