4 They are not to be used as storage areas.
Caution! Stairwells are exits!! They are not to be used as storage areas.

5 Fire Control Room Located on the first floor is the fire control room which houses the: Elevator Controls Firefighter Control Panel PA System, which in the event of an emergency, will notify you to prepare to evacuate and will also give you the order to evacuate.

Sirens, Strobe lights, Smoke Detectors, Sprinklers, and Pull Stations Familiarize yourself with this equipment, and learn their general location near your workspace.

7 Fire Extinguishers Fire extinguishers are placed throughout the building. They are to be used on very small fires, and only after notification. The fire extinguishers are not locked, as the sticker on the side states. In the event of an emergency, the doors must be forcefully opened.

12 How Do I Exit My Building
There is an array of exit signs which will lead you to the stairs, corridors, etc., which you need to use in order to exit the building.

13 How Do I Exit My Building?
While Exiting: Follow the direction of the arrows until you are able to exit the building.

14 If You Need Assistance If you are unable to evacuate, wait here.
Stairwells are two hour fire rated enclosures, and are smoke resistant. Someone should remain with the person(s) in need of assistance, and the fire warden should insure that the fire department is notified of their location. Note: Occupants should not attempt to carry someone who is unable to evacuate down the stairs.

15 While Exiting Make sure that you stay with your Fire Warden. It is the duty of the Fire Wardens to report unaccounted people to the fire department.

16 While Exiting This is an outlet for the stairwell pressurization system. This building is equipped with a system that blows air into the stairwell in order to keep smoke out. When the stairwell pressurization system is engaged, the doors to the stairwells will be a little bit harder to open.

17 What Can Be Done in Preparation?
Know your building. Be aware of your evacuation route. Have a plan in place for evacuation. Practice. Do not wait for a problem to arise. Think Proactively!!
