2. Key Stage 3
Careers is taught within the Religious Education/Citizenship curriculum from Year 7
Emphasis on developing personal awareness and skills eg assertiveness, teamwork, resilience, coping with transition
Stereotyping
Year 8 Enterprise Day working with employers (Inspired Youth)
Year 9 all students have a lesson delivered by the Careers Co-ordinator looking at the process of choosing options and researching careers ideas on websites

3. Key Stage 4 Focus is on Year 10
Timetabled careers lessons once a fortnight
Taught by the ICT Team in ICT rooms with access to computers for research
Use KUDOS (JED from 2017)to generate career ideas
Topics include preparation for work experience, CV writing, interview skills, transferable skills, LMI, travel to work/study, finance for further study, post 16 options including alternatives to A levels, apprenticeships
Very interactive – produce powerpoints, posters, presentations

4. Year 11
Use Assemblies to give key information eg 6th Form/College deadlines
Talks from 6th Form and local Colleges
Apprenticeship talk
College visits for selected SEN/PP pupils
1:1 guidance interviews; self referral, mentor referral, Head of Year referral, SENCO referral, Pastoral Team referral, Pupil Premium team referral
Careers Co-ordinator attends SEN transition meetings
Mentor inset session in September – how to support students with decision making. Key information on RPA, post 16 options, 6th Form/College Open Evenings, Apprenticeships, useful websites, how and when to refer for guidance

5. Key Stage 5
Careers is delivered through the weekly ‘Conference’ programme
Induction session – ‘Options with A levels’ – delivered by Careers Co-ordinator
Higher Education talks, visits to universities, Higher Education Convention
HE applications are dealt with by mentors and Heads of Year
Talk on Apprenticeships
Support from Careers Co-ordinator for students looking for jobs/apprenticeships
Self referral, tutor referral and Head of Year referral for guidance interviews
Self generated work experience at the end of Year 12

Events including ‘Norfolk Careers and Skills Festival’, ‘Careers in the NHS’, ‘Girls into Science and Engineering’, Mi Care, Mi Fi (Inspired Youth), Higher Education Convention
‘Move on Up’ at UEA (Year 10) – raising aspiration
Villiers Park/UEA mentoring and residentials for selected pupil premium students in Year 10 and Year 12 – raising aspiration
‘Inspired Women’ – business women mentoring eight Year 10 girls
UEA Medicine Club – delivered by medical students
Talks eg Veterinary Science and nursing – local veterinary practice
