Success Orientations meet Art
We will be working on a fun project inspired by the artwork of American artist; Mark Jenkins. We will be creating 3D sculptures using only clear packing tape and further design them into superheroes representing one of the Success Orientations through gestures.

4. How? We will divide the whole group into teams of 3
They will construct life-size figures of themselves using clear packing tape
Every member of each team will be participating as a sculptor and the model
Sculptures will be then designed into super heroes as per the student’s own choice

6. Purpose?
Learning about how the idea of art is changing in the contemporary world.
Stimulate the creativity of the students by making 3D Sculptures out of common household materials
Representing the Success Orientations through abstract art
Learning how to work in a group/teamwork

Group Interaction- Working in a team to make the cast of the model
Concern for Others- Helping others to wrap them
Independent Endeavor- Designing your superhero in your own style and way
Aesthetic Appreciation- Seeing the beauty and creativity in each others finished product
Responsibility- Working and finishing your project on time

8. Day 1
Day 1: Discussion
Changing meaning of Art in the contemporary world
Introduction and discussion of 3D Sculpture and Installation Art.
Introduction of Mark Jenkins’ work
Brainstorming and planning your own project in connection with one of the Success Orientations.
Create a draft of your project
Create a small tape sculpture for practice and tactile experience

9. Day 2, 3, 4 and 5
Day 2: Field trip
Trip to Song Gang Wholesale market for material shopping. 
Day 3: Work on project; start wrapping the person  
Day 4: Work on project; design and decorate 
Day 5: -Final touch up and writing a detailed summary of the whole process of making the sculpture and what the project represents.
Present and display the artwork.

Timings: 8:30 A.M- 4:00 P.M
About RMB 600/ child including field trip transportation and materials.
Lunch will be same as regular school days.
