This patient at 33 weeks was admitted in diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
This patient at 33 weeks was admitted in diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). On the upper panel, this fetal heart rate demonstrates the characteristic pattern of this problem with decreased to absent variability on the external monitor, although there are no late decelerations. After correction of the DKA, the fetal heart rate pattern returned to normal with accelerations and normal variability seen on the lower panel.
