1 Trouble shooting

2 When a patient have discomforts from his newly prescribed power glass , then we have to check the prescription by 3 ways. Before that we have to check the patient medical record number, name, address, age.

4 Clinical problem Check the present glass power as in the prescription
Check the prescription is written correctly as in the case sheet (incorrect prescription) Check the given prescription to correct patient (wrong prescription) Check the vision with present glass Check the refraction Check the astigmatic axis as in the prescription. Then check the PG centring.

5 Technical problem LARGE FRAMES:
The frames may be too large compared to the patients’ IPD . If so, the patient will realize new distortions. He may have to go back to his correct size of frames. FRAME PROBLEM: It may be changed vertex distance Frames slide forward Frames fit loosely Frames must be positioned awkwardly to see properly. Eye lashes or eyebrows touch the lenses.

6 Technical problem UNWANTED PRISM:
Because of the false centration prisms may be introduced that induced phorias. This is more common in strong reading glass. BASE CURVE: Due to incorrect form of lens, it may cause difficulty . A geneva lens clock must be used to avoid it.

7 Technical problem Dull polishing STRESS LENS. THICK LENS.
Lens tilt, Quality of lenses: If these things are not correct they may result in some difficulties to the patients. Finally, the prescription should be reviewed and verified by an OPTOMETRIST
