2 Who am I? I die early on in the novella, but not before creating Animalism. I use the word “Comrade” at least a dozen times in chapter one, but I am not a working animal on the farm. I am a prize-winning boar.

3 Who am I? I am Old Major.

4 Who am I? I steal away Bluebell’s puppies, train them to become my police dogs and use them to run Snowball off the farm. I mistaken a hangover for a deadly disease. Minimus, the poet pig, writes poems about me. I become increasingly separate and elite, even from and when compared to other pigs.

I am first characterized as a drunk. I am used to frighten the other animals into submission under Napoleon’s reign.
