This is because our students have an extended working day, typically have a long commute and learn specialist subjects. We want them to use their evenings and weekend time to take part in sporting, artistic and creative activities in order to widen their learning experiences.

9 What is SAM Learning? SAM Learning is effective online study
It focuses on interactive revision and test question practice to consolidate learning and increase confidence It contains a wealth of information, quizzes and exam questions Results are recorded so students, parents and teachers can see what progress is being made.

10 Can I use SAM LEARNING at home?
Yes! Go to the SAM Learning web site: Use your own logon details to access your own page If you have limited access to the internet at home, the LRC is available at break, lunch and at the end of each working day.

11 Impact of SAM Learning After a decade of studies:
Overall, students achieve an average of two GCSE grades higher than expected with as little as 10 hours’ use of SAM Learning during the course of a year. Free School Meals students who use SAM Learning for 10 or more hours during the year achieve an average of 3.5 GCSE grades better than expected. The weakest 20% of students achieve an average of four GCSE grades better than expected with just 10 hours or more of SAM Learning.

13 How to use SAM Learning To log on to SAM LEARNING, go to website:
The Centre ID is LN2LU Your username is your date of birth followed by your initials: e.g AB You must use 2 digits for the day, month and year Your password is the same as your username.

14 Setting up SAM Learning
When you log on you are asked to set a memorable question Select one of the 4 questions, provide an answer and press finish We suggest you write this down and keep it somewhere safe You can then select an Avatar.

15 Setting up SAM Learning
You can also select your friends A maximum of 10 is allowed in your year group As you complete activities you will be awarded points. You use these points to get medals in SAM Learning. You can see your friends scores and you can also challenge your friends.

17 Revision Arrangements - Students
Your teachers will populate SAM Learning with revision tasks they want you to complete each week You are responsible for logging on and completing the activities SAM Learning will mark your work and let you and your teacher know how you are getting on

18 Revision Arrangements - Parents
We ask parents to track their child’s progress at home and support and encourage them We will track progress every fortnight If your child is not engaging in the revision we will send a letter home to inform you If your child finds a concept difficult they can always log onto SAM Learning and complete extra revision.

20 Responsibility Teachers are responsible for setting the work on SAM Learning Each student is responsible for completing the work set Your hard work will have a positive impact on your exam results Parents are asked to encourage and motivate their child to complete this vital revision

21 Independent Revision You can also do your own additional revision
Select ‘Activities’ Select ‘GCSE’ Then pick the subject you want to study You must make sure you select the correct exam board Select the activity and start revising!
