8 UPCOMING CHANGES FOR FREC
Correspondence courses were added under distance education Defined distance education as the following: Delivery of education via correspondence, internet and/or other interactive media Courses are interactive Courses provide for interchange of information between the student and the instructor Jocelyn Pomales

9 UPCOMING CHANGES FOR FREC
14 hours of Continuing Education consist of the following: 3 hours of Core Law 3 hours of Ethics and Business Practices 8 hours of specialty courses Effective Date: 10/1/2017 for licensees with the expiration date of 9/30/2018 and thereafter Jocelyn Pomales

10 UPCOMING CHANGES TO FREC
What does this mean? Ethics and Business Practices courses approved on or after November 2016 satisfy this requirement. Any Ethics courses approved prior to November 2016 will continue to only count as specialty. You must re-submit your existing course for approval if the original approval date was prior to November 2016 in order for it to be considered possibly approved as the new Ethics and Business Practices. Jocelyn Pomales

11 UPCOMING CHANGES TO FREC
Any existing 14 hour continuing education courses approved prior to June 6, 2017, will not satisfy the renewal hours for licensees renewing with an expiration date starting 9/30/2018. They will only receive credit for the Core Law and 8 hours of specialty They will then need to take the Ethics and Business Practices course in order to complete the renewal requirements. Jocelyn Pomales

12 UPCOMING CHANGES TO FREC
You need to submit new 14 hour courses for approval, and must add the 3 hours Ethics and Business Practice in order to teach a 14 hour course that will satisfy the entire renewal requirement. Please make sure you are informing your students if you are going to keep teaching the old course. They will still need to take the additional Ethics and Business Practices in order to renew their license. Jocelyn Pomales
