3 Pizza Research Lesson Objective……
Complete a research sheet to help develop design ideas for pizza. Today you will use the internet to investigate pizzas and their characteristics. Using the back of your design sheet you should add notes and sketches to help with your final idea.

4 Pizza Research Some of the points you should consider…..
What ingredients could you add to the basic dough recipe? Ingredients and toppings. Spices, herbs and other flavourings Could you make your own sauce to add to the dough? Shapes, sizes, construction ( does a pizza have to be round??) What is the function of the ingredients? What diets is it suitable for – vegetarian, vegan, low fat options?

6 Pizza Research Secure Assessment
My pizza research shows variations of shape, flavours and construction. I can explain how it will help with my design ideas. I will investigate different sauces and recipes. I can describe how I am going to make it. Exceeding Assessment My pizza research shows complex shapes and flavours. I can find a sauce recipe to use in my making. I can make links to the culture, different diets, sources of ingredients. I can explain in detail how I can make my design. Highest Assessment My pizza research has complex shapes and flavours. I can find a sauce recipe to use in my making. I can make links to the culture, different diets sources of ingredients. I can clearly identify the key processes involved in making a pizza and suggest alternative ways to make it.

7 Pizza Design Lesson Objective……
Develop a range of ideas for pizza which clearly show how have used your research to help. Annotate your ideas fully explaining your choice and function of ingredients.

8 Pizza Designs Secure Assessment
My pizza designs are clear and well drawn. They are creative and show a variety of ingredients and construction. The properties of the ingredients are identified and there are links to Eatwell guide and the nutritional content Country of origin, food miles, locally produced Exceeding Assessment I can design a range of creative and workable ideas pizzas They are well annotated with links to nutritional content and healthy eating. I can show links to various diets and needs. I can show further development of an idea to take through to making Highest Assessment I can design a range of creative and workable ideas for pizzas They are well annotated with links to nutritional content and healthy eating.
