Thanksgiving For Baptism
P: You were created as an individual; completely unique and with gifts like no one else. In baptism, you were claimed as a precious child of your Creator; all of you, every aspect of your being. Your sainthood and your sinfulness; your quirks, and your questions—you are created by God, loved by God, and claimed by God. Let us bless the Creator! All: Thanks be to God!
15
Thanksgiving For Baptism
P: Because it is not good for us to be alone, our Creator places us in communities: our birth families and the families we form, our congregation, our tribe, our people. In baptism, our communities are opportunities to experience the love of God. For the love of another; for the love of a child; for the love of a creature, a community, and of creation, let us bless the Creator!
16
Thanksgiving For Baptism
P: Our Creator has brought us to this place, and to this point in our life’s journey. We are disciples of Jesus Christ who have claimed our calling to God’s work of reconciliation. We have gathered to be inspired and encouraged in our vocation. For our safe travel, for those who will keep things going smoothly in our absence, and for all the blessings offered by our time together, let us bless the Creator! All: Thanks be to God!
