2 The Nuts & Bolts: Facilities (Golkin 102)
Joe Policarpo, Jake Mattera, Gia Wilkins, and Kathleen Sinnott of Facilities can assist when you have requests for furniture arrangement, room setup, etc. Sansom street entrance is open Monday to Friday starting at 7:15am. Saturday and Sunday the entrance opens at 9:00am. The entrance closes Sunday through Thursday at 12:15am. Friday and Saturday is closes at 11:15pm. Please see Facilities if you are requesting an earlier open or a later close time. Please keep the classroom/hallways as tidy as you found it. So, after your event, please move trash to the proper bin, clean up, make sure the room is left as it should be, etc. Students should never move law school furniture and should respect all spaces. (e.g. place waste in trashcans, take care not to damage furniture, etc.) It is the responsibility of the Event Owner to ensure the reserved room(s) are left in the right order and that to ensure that food is disposed of properly.

3 The Nuts & Bolts: Facilities (Golkin 102)
Tablecloths are required for events with food! Plastic tablecloths are acceptable and can be purchased at CVS or you can ask Julie about them. They really can keep spaces cleaner and allow for our facilities to remain state of the art! Leftovers to Common Areas: excess can be brought out for general consumption, but cannot be out for longer than minutes. It is the Event Owner’s responsibility to dispose of leftover food. This is for sanitary purposes as well as to avoid potential food poisoning issues! Expecting large crowds or large lunch orders? Don’t keep it a surprise! A week before your event, please Facilities and let them know your caterer, if you need extra trash bins, etc. Bag lunches are preferred over box lunches and work better with our sustainability practices. If different events are happening on the same day, Student Groups are encouraged to use the same Penn Approved caterer. This will save on delivery fees & promote a cohesive environment. For events involving beer and alcohol, no kegs should be placed on carpets. Also, if alcohol will be served the group must fill out the Alcohol At Law School Events form and give to Julie. Beer cans are preferred over bottles and are much better for our sustainability practices. If the expected number of guests exceeds 50 and for all major events, you must have a walk-thru with Facilities. Dimitri will set this up for you. Please use good judgment and keep Facilities in the loop regarding your events. Kathleen is happy to meet, and advanced planning (submitting the schedule for events to Facilities, having a walk thru, being conscientious of what else is going on in the Law School) can save headaches!

4 Here’s to a great year, and thank you for all your help!
