QUICKVIEWPORT™ Closed QUICKVIEWPORT™ Open
A QUICKPORT™ can be installed on a pressure or vacuum vessel using a standard ANSI nozzle or pad. It then allows quick and safe access to the vessel contents for sampling, charging, and a variety of other uses. No bolting or unbolting is needed. Process pressure or vacuum seals and locks the QUICKPORT™ so it cannot be opened. A QUICKPORT™ is a quick access port with a solid door. A QUICKVIEWPORT™ is a quick access port with a FUSEVIEW™ window/door. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

The QUICKPORT™ family provides a safe, easy, fast way to gain access to a pressure vessel. Each QUICKPORT™ features a sliding FUSEVIEW™ or door that opens laterally to provide full port access. It consists of a base pad and retaining flange held apart by spacers, a floating seal ring, and a FUSEVIEW™ or door. As the door is pivoted into the QUICKPORT™ the spring loaded seal ring deflects to allow the door to fit tightly between the seal ring and retainer. The spring force creates an air tight seal on the door face and allows the tank to be pressurized or evacuated. A pressure differential holds the door securely in place, thus no bolting is involved. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

At LOW PRESSURE the stainless steel preload pushes the seal ring and door against the retainer which creates the necessary sealing force on the o-ring. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Under POSITIVE PRESSURE there is a greater force pushing the seal ring toward the door due to the difference in area. This force pushes the seal ring and door against the retainer and forms the necessary sealing force on the o-ring. As the pressure increases this force becomes even greater, providing a better seal. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Under SELF PRESSURIZATION the QUICKPORT™ can be sealed independent of process pressure. The 1/8" FNPT allows plant air or another available fluid to pressurize the area between the two boss o-rings. This pressure will force the seal ring up against the door and then against the retainer which will seal the unit under positive, negative, or no pressure. This option also acts as a locking mechanism so the QUICKPORT™ cannot be opened when the unit is self pressurized. The self pressurized fluid never enters the process. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Under PROCESS PRESSURE and SELF PRESSURIZATION the QUICKPORT™ combines the advantage of the normal sealing force from the process pressure with the added force of the self pressurized fluid. This gives a tighter seal as well as locks the QUICKPORT™ so it can not be opened even after the process pressure is released. If the process goes from positive to negative pressure the self pressurized fluid maintains a tight seal throughout the process. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Under VACUUM the seal ring bottoms out and the large surface area of the door cause it to be drawn down onto the o-ring to create the necessary sealing force. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Under VACUUM and SELF PRESSURIZATION the self pressurized fluid generates more force due to the higher pressure then the vacuum and forces the door against the retainer sealing the unit. This gives a tighter seal then under vacuum without the self pressurized fluid and it locks the QUICKPORT™ as well so it can not be opened even after the vacuum is released. If the process goes from positive to negative pressure the self pressurized fluid maintains a tight seal throughout the process. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Filling A QUICKFILLVIEWPORT™ includes a separate ring that is used when filling a vessel. Before filling the process pressure is taken to zero and any self pressurization is released. The FUSEVIEW™ is then swung out of the way and the fill ring is swung into place. The fill ring prevents any product from spilling out the gap left from the FUSEVIEW™ and also protects the top o-ring from product contact which could hinder the seal. Once the step is complete the fill ring is removed and the FUSEVIEW™ is swung back into place and the process can be restarted. No bolting or un-bolting is needed. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

The QUICKFILLVIEWPORT™ fill ring prevents spillage and provides a clean bore to eliminate product being trapped. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

The QUICKFILLVIEWPORT™ also can be supplied with an external Tri-clamp® connection. This can be used for filling or charging with a funnel or a Powder Transfer System (PTS). It will also allow the attachment of other equipment like a spray ball. This option further reduces spillage and provides a clean bore to eliminate product being trapped. It also includes a 4th o-ring to prevent product leakage during filling or any other operation that requires it. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

A FUNNEL can be clamped to the Tri-clamp® connection to allow for cleaner and easier filling. This can be left in place or quickly removed after filling. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

An INSERTION FUNNEL can also be clamped to the Tri-clamp® connection
An INSERTION FUNNEL can also be clamped to the Tri-clamp® connection. The insertion extends through the QUICKPORT™ and into the nozzle to eliminate the chance for additives to be trapped in the QUICKPORT™ . This must be removed after filling. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Accessory Attachment The Tri-Clamp® can also be used to attached other equipment such as a SPRAY BALL which can save money and space by eliminating the need for extra nozzles. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

DEC Powder Transfer The DEC PTS (Powder Transfer System) can be used to charge the vessel through the QUICKPORT™ allowing for easy bolt up and saves a nozzle that can be used for something else. To use the DEC PTS the QUICKPORT™ includes a Tri-clamp® attachment and a fill ring. When it is time to charge the vessel, with the FUSEVIEW™ in place, the PTS system is lowered onto the Tri-clamp® fitting, and clamped in place with a gasket. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Once the DEC PTS is in place, release the vessel pressure, and swing the FUSEVIEW™ out of the way and swing the fill ring into place and apply pressure to the self pressurization system to seal the fill ring. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Once the QUICKFILLVIEWPORT™ is self pressurized the vessel can be charged with the PTS system.
JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Once charging is complete, release the self pressurized pressure and swing the fill ring out of the way and swing the FUSEVIEW™ into place. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

The PTS SYSTEM can now be removed.

JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Once charging is complete the DOVERPAC® charging system insertion can be removed from the vessel and the glove bag can be crimped to seal in hazardous components. The ILC Dover Clean In Place System can then be used to clean the QUICKPORT™ and remove the glove bag end. The Clean In Place System will connect to the second groove on the QUICKPORT™ adapter plate. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

Locking Mechanisms The Locking Pin goes through a small hole in the top plate of the QUICKPORT™. This blocks the path of the window ensuring the unit can not be opened while the pin is in place. This pin can then be locked with a standard ¼” padlock for extra safety. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

A Spring Pin is a spring loaded locking pin that goes through a small tapped hole in the retainer of the QUICKPORT™. This blocks the path of the FUSEVIEW™ ensuring the unit cannot be opened while the pin is engaged. It must be lifted and manually held up while the FUSEVIEW™ is opened. Once released it springs back into the locked position. JM Canty, Inc. · Buffalo, New York · Phone: (716) | JM Canty, Ltd. · Dublin, Ireland · Phone: +353 (1)

The Proximity Switch indicates when the FUSEVIEW™ is in position
The Proximity Switch indicates when the FUSEVIEW™ is in position. This allows for an alarmed tie in to moving equipment (agitators etc.) to ensure that the cycle only runs when the QUICKPORT™ is closed.
