3 Listening Skill Nature 1.It is the difficult skill to develop
2.Listening is the basic receptive skill 3.It demands strategies and possess a lot of challenges. 4.For listening the teacher is the most effective source in the classroom or teacher can generate some opportunities with the help of some devices

4 Audio Visual Support 1.Small size funny clips - voice of Indian Speakers. 2.Short documentary films 3.Short animated stories. 4.Action songs, rhymes and poems. 5.Recorded commentary (Football, cricket, wrestling Kabbadi match) 6.Controlled interviews based on the local context.

5 Teacher Initiatives Listening with Purpose-
1.Classroom interaction or transactions should be only in English. 2.Reading news headline specially news in the limelight. 3.Dramatization of an event story or light moments with apt gesture and body language. Listening with Purpose- 1.Teacher chooses simple poem and asked students to remember some words of the poem. 2.Teacher help students to recall specific vocabulary such as names of birds, places animals etc.

6 Small exchanges supported by the teacher.
1.Teacher chooses the small exchange including a question e.g.-This is a chair. What is this? How many chairs are here? What is the colour of this chair? Is it Black or White? Do you have chairs in your house? How many chairs are there in your house? Are they wooden or plastic? Chinese Whisper Teacher select a sentence calls one of the student and read the sentence. The student whispers it goes on & on. The last student tells it.

7 Asking for the favourites.
Teacher: My favourite colour is pink. What is your favourite colour? Student: Yellow/ Teacher: Very good Teacher: My favourite car/fruit/place/dish/teacher/bike/talc/toothpaste serials/movie/actor/actress/village/city/picnic spot/T.V. English Radio. English poems, songs.

8 Speaking Skill:- Learning language has to be resulted in speaking.
Language is the means of communication. Teacher should be language user rather than must be Teachers who use English in the school premises student imitate them. Imitating pieces of conversations Teacher opens the conversation and facilitating it.e.g Teacher takes students on the playground.Introduces the school- Dear students,this is our school,Z.P.Primary School Bhendala. What is the name of our school?

In this kind of speaking teacher draws the diagram to facilitate Pupils to speak e.g Gore Family Son Sanjay (14yrs) Father Gopal (41yrs) Daughter Smita (11 yrs) Mother Geeta (38yrs) First of all teacher gives input with the help diagram, 1.What is the name of the family? 2.How many members are there in this family? 3.What is the name of the father/mother/son/daughter? 4.How old is the father /mother/son/daughter? 5.Draw a tree diagram of your family and use the question above to get the answers?

Teacher writes some question on the Blackboard Teacher interviews a smart student A smart student interviews the teacher Generalization (dividing class , in pairs) Probable questions for Interview What is your full name? Where do you live? What is your qualifications? When do you get up? What is your favourite dish?

14 Reading aloud : Result into speaking
Reading aloud :Dialogues, role play dramatization of a lesson story presentation A wall talk- Teacher asks students to face the wall Teacher asks them to speak words related to school. Teacher can ask verbal or ‘Wh’ question Teacher could provide a topic to speak on

15 READING SKILL Reading is the receptive skill and from literacy
point of view it is an important area to look into. Reading means association of shapes with sounds

16 Pictures and words together
Pictorial Reading Use realias Use pictures This will developed their interest. It can arrest their span of attention. Pictures and words together A picture or realia accompained by the word. It helps them to make an association. It builds their vocabulary. Vocabulary remains active.

17 Describing the picture
Choose a picture were in room to 5 to 6 sentences (Picture of House) Teacher describe the picture and write down sentences This stratergy helps student to understand Teacher has to assessed them read the design sentences This will keep on attending in their can do attitude.

18 Reading 7 to 10 lines without considering
comprehension on daily basis It really helps to inculcate reading with fear amount of pace. Teacher- using pointer reads words one by one and students repeats Later on teacher goes with small groups of words and sentences.

19 Reading the most frequently used words
Some words invariable reappear in the text ARTICLES,PRONOUNS,AUXILARY VERBS,CONTRACTED FORMS & THEIR LONG FORMSWH QUESTION WORDS, PREPOSITIONS,SOME ADJECTIVES,CONJUNCTIONS, CARDINALS & ORDINALS You can Google the most use word and the list is ready for you.

20 Reading to consolidate the alphabets
Go through the group of 4 to 5 alphabets (Not sequentially) Assign them 2 lines for each alphabets and asked them to find it and circle it. You can form pairs and ask them to trace on the palm and alphabet and say what it is. 21 In assembly using cut-ups to read aloud
Teacher prepares the assembly proceedings in English and make cuts-ups and distribute them among 7 to 10 students helps them in the reading preparation Targetted Reading Teacher prepares the text of 6 to 10 lines that caters the purpose. “ This is Radha’s home.The kettle is on the stool. Their is a bag in the corner. The bag is between two boxes.

23 Writing Skill Simple writing tasks
Teacher assigns any page number of the textbook Find and copy Two/Three/Four/Five/Six letters words. Write words starting with P/Q/M Write words ending with E/S/G/ Gap fill activities (For copy writing) Assign any page number of the textbook Choose Three or Four lines Write first and last word like-She garden This help them write with strong support.

Teacher writes some most used words on Black board Articles,pronouns,auxillary verbs,conjuctions,prepositions Students read and copy. Writing messages,greetings. 26 Developing question bank with the answers
