3 What you need to graduate:
Compulsory Credits 4 English (1 per grade) 3 math (1 credit in Grade 11 or 12) 2 science 1 the arts 1 Canadian geography 1 Canadian history 1 French 1 health & physical education .5 career studies .5 civics 12 optional credits There are a few components to the Diploma First are the compulsory credits.

4 Other credits you must have:
GROUP 1 credit additional English or a French as a second language, or Native language, or a classical or an international language, or a Social Science or Canadian and World Studies or Guidance and Career Education or Cooperative Education* GROUP 2 credit Health and Phys. Ed. or Business Studies or the Arts or French as a second language or Cooperative Education* GROUP 3 credit Science or Technological Education or French as a second language or Cooperative Education* The three groups complete the 18 compulsory credits *A MAXIMUM OF 2 OF THESE ADDITIONAL COMPULSORY CREDITS MAY BY MET THROUGH COOPERATIVE EDUCATION

7 Planning for Grade 12 Backward Plan:
WORK COLLEGE Backward Plan: Apprenticeship? Work? College? University? Cooperative Education Need to do more self assessment? Pick up list of internet resource sites from the on-call counsellor Planning started last year in GLC. That is where you started planning backward for your future.

8 Destination Planning University in Ontario: Six grade 12 U or M courses College in Ontario: Grade 11/12 U/M/C Applied Degrees: Six grade 12 U or M courses see Apprenticeship : OSSD - Diploma - math/science? Work : OSSD – Diploma Once you have an idea of the pathway you are on, make sure you know what you need to apply. These websites link you to the application process for your preferred path.

14 Math for Grade 12 Math for Work and Everyday Life (MEL 4E0)
Foundations of College Mathematics (MAP4C0) Mathematics for Technology (MCT 4C0) Mathematics of Data Management (MDM 4U0) Advanced Functions (MHF 4U0) Calculus and Vectors (MCV 4U0) These are the Math options for grade 12.

15 Grade 11/12 Math Course MEL3E0 MBF3C0 MCF3M0 MCR3U0 MCT4C0
Grade 12 Math Course MEL4E0 MAP4C0 MDM4U0 MCT4C0 MHF4U0 This maps out the pathways to the grade 12 math options. MHF4U0 can be taken at the same time as MCV4U0 even though it is the prerequisite for MCV4U0, however, this is not recommended MHF4U MCV4U0

16 Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP)
Begin to earn your apprenticeship hours AND finish high school AT THE SAME TIME Provided through coop programs OYAP is a stepping stone to the skilled trades. You can start on that pathway through Coop.

17 Cooperative Education
Earn 4 credits by learning at work (COP4XC) Develop job-related skills and explore possible destinations 4 credits = 1 semester Assembly in April - application and interview Can return for one semester of Coop See Mr. Bredschneider or Mr. Robertson - Coop office By grade 12 you should have all but your English compulsory credit completed for your Diploma. If you are looking at options for your grade 12 year, Coop may be an something of interest.

Step 1: Login to BYOD through From the Peel Home Page students click BYOD login Use Chrome to access myBlueprint

20 Dashboard: Take some time to review your diploma status to make sure everything is correct. The from the dashboard choose High School on the left.

21 Select Courses (Step 1) English should be the only compulsory course you need. By clicking on the course it will direct you subject

22 Course Descriptions Add course
Once you have done you have determined your final diploma requirements you are ready to choose courses. Add course

23 Modifying Choices: To change or delete selections,
select the three grey dots Pop up box will appear with choices

24 Missing Prerequisites:
Do not submit if you do not have the proper prerequisites. If you think there is an error, see your Guidance counsellor before your submit.

25 Review details/issues and then click “Submit Course Selection”

26 Sign-Off Sheet (Verification Form)
Sign-off Sheet must be selected. Print off form, have it signed and return it to Guidance

Commitment to academic success Gr. 11 teachers’ RECOMMENDATIONS Academic achievement so far Areas of interest, learning style Possible destinations & requirements Prerequisites (recommend level 3 and above) ...be realistic A few things to keep in mind before you submit your courses. Effort is important as is resourcefulness. If you need help, get the help.

28 More notes….. Students considering vocal jazz or stage band are to consult the music department. (these course codes are not available for selection on myBlueprint) If selecting the Yearbook Editor course you must choose both ASM4M0 and IDC4U0 Two credit Summer Coop applications will be available in late February. Summer school course information will be out in April. Online application will start the beginning of May .

29 Final reminders Select a minimum of SEVEN courses as a gr. 12 student if you are returning for a full year. Choose courses online through myBlueprint (BYODResourcesmyBlueprint) Choose your courses by February 10. Make sure you have the proper prerequisites
