2. ABSTRACT
Vitamin B17, also called Amygdalin or laetrile, is a glycoside nutrient linked with cancer prevention in alternative medicine practices — and there are reliable claims that it’s actually cured cancer. Vitamin B17 is derived from natural food sources and most abundant in seeds of plants of the prunasin family, such as apricots and apples. Laetrile, the extract form of vitamin B17, is most well-known for potentially helping prevent cancer development through the production of hydrogen cyanide. This beneficial compound is released into the body’s tissues and targets and destroys mutated cells. Although more formal research is still needed to prove vitamin B17’s effectiveness, many alternative medicine practitioners use vitamin B17 to increase immunity. Cyanide is thought to be the main anti-cancer component of vitamin B17 but is not fully proven in clinical settings as of today.

3. INTRODUCTION
Amygdalin was first discovered in 1830 in bitter almonds. Ernst. T. Krebs, Jr. ( ) was a chemist who first promoted the amygdalin as a cancer drug in early From amygdalina made semi synthetic distillate calling it vitamin B17 or Laetrile. "in 1971, laetrile was banned.
Dr. Richardson called on investigative journalist G. Edward Griffin to publicize the merits of laetrile or B17 derived from apricot seeds. Griffin discovered that the Sloane-Kettering Institute's laetrile trials leading to the FDA ban were bogus. Sloane-Kettering spokesperson Dr. Ralph Moss refused to lie about laetrile and left Sloane-Kettering in disgust. He slipped Griffin unpublicized papers scientifically proving laetrile actually worked. This led to Griffin's book A World Without Cancer, where you can read much more about the amygdalin cancer curing story.

5. MOA Laetrile, commonly known as Vitamin B17 or Amygdaline, contains two units of sugar, one of benzaldehyde and one of cyanide, all tightly locked with in it. Everyone knows that Cyanide ion can be highly toxic and even fatal if taken in sufficient quantity. However, as it is in locked state is completely inert and absolutely has no effect on living tissue. There is only one suabstance that can unlock this molecule and release the cyanide. That substance is an enzyme called beta- glycosidase, which we shall call the unlocking enzyme.
