ECCHS Freshman Academy Rationale
***Nearly 1/3 of all freshman nationally make the decision to drop out of school prior to the completion of their sophomore year. ***National percentages, some 50-60% of freshman, indicated that they felt/experienced a sense of isolation, and thus, they considered dropping out. ***Nationally, nearly 40% of students, particularly considering both rural and urban areas, experience failure rates (Not earning enough credit to move into their Sophomore year.) ***Freshman who missed on average 10 days of school per semester, nationally experienced a 63% graduation rate within their 4 year cohort. Our Response: Core classes with homogenous groups (Only true 9th graders), Core classes in the morning. Issuance of a Title I para-professional. Issuance of two Title I Tutors. Administrator dedicated to the Freshman Class.
