One religious idea is the Christian creation story which says God created the universe and everything in it in 7 days. Christians believe it was created by an all-powerful God because he just had to speak and it happened, for example ‘Let there be light’. In addition, the world was carefully designed and planned by God and was made perfectly, illustrated by the quote ‘God saw what he had made and saw that it was good.’

One scientific theory is the Big Bang Theory which states that the universe began 15 billion years ago when a singularity (ball of matter) exploded in a great fireball. Then the temperature dropped causing hydrogen and helium to form, followed by more solid matter which created stars and galaxies.
