2 What is quality content?
Up-to-date, accurate, true etc. Clear, plain language, comprehensive, usable, meaningful, interesting, engaging? Fit for purpose, relevant to circumstances/setting Targetted (personalised) But also ‘Clinically sound’ Level 1 - Avoid doing harm Level 2 - Do more good than harm Level 3 - Do as much good as possible

4 Why do QA? To guide people to the highest quality services, information and support To be credible with other stakeholders (commissioners, GPs, carers etc.) To become a leading (local) supplier of mental health content online

5 What content needs QA? Descriptions of CPFT services
Referral routes (simplified by ARC rollout) The QA of third party services we signpost Content in the Find Help area (children, adults, older people etc.) Advice we give to professionals Personalisation and access to CRS records Online self managed care planning

6 How Establish quality criteria for different forms of content
Systematic review of all content Random sampling Ranking/rating of services (by category?) Peer review or sign-off of self help pages by named clinicians Accreditation of services by … Voting on quality (online polls) by … Mystery shopping of services by …

7 When? At multiple points
During authoring – step 1 – select good authors Before publishing – step 2 – have a thorough clinical review process During publishing – step 3 – editorial review After publishing - step 4 - solicit feedback from users Later – regular checks that content is still up-to-date, accurate and relevant

8 Who? CPFT Psychologists, Psychiatrists, CPNs ARC staff Medical officer
Non CPFT staff – ex staff, freelancers, internet groups Alongside face to face work by a range of staff, by a separate specialist group Multiple reviews – not just one opinion

9 How recruited and organised
Selection by senior staff Invitations in staff news Advertised to external experts (e.g. linkedin groups) Separate setters of clinical policies and quality criteria by CPFT from the the people that apply them (could be external) CPFT check that policies/criteria are being applied as intended

10 What is ‘clinically sound’
Supported by evidence But not post hoc cherry picking of evidence Evidence from outcomes Theoretically sound But who’s theory – medical vs socio/economic vs psychological vs forensic models Be eclectic, 360 review

11 Plan Recruit people to set policies and criteria
Review these at next SG meeting Recruit people to apply policies by next meeting Do initial QA across the site Embed as BAU
