Congratulations – on a fantastic 1st semester! Review/Preview – Balancing equations and Net Ionic equations – work on in class – this is not homework Homework: Complete STEM project – see next slide for specific STEM due dates

2 STEM Schedule Lab notebook due Tuesday 1/5– bring to class with the data you collected and the observations you noted during your experiment Abstract due Tuesday 1/5 – bring typed abstract to class for peer editing (every student must have a copy in class to receive credit) Description of project and findings in less than 250 words Do not use pronouns such as I, my, we, our instead state “the researchers”, “the investigation, the experiment , the results” Stem Clinic on Oral and Written Communication 8 am Wednesday 1/6 in auditorium Post Project Research Summary and Research paper Rough draft 2 due Block 1/6-1/7 Bring your typed research summary and research paper to class to be peer edited(every student must have a copy of both documents in class to receive credit) See rubrics and sample research paper for format; include charts, graphs Upload Abstract, Post Project Research Summary and bibliography to registration Website and request a judging time – due Friday 1/8 Hand in final version of Abstract and post project research summary after upload is completed. These hard copies will be graded – due on Monday 1/11 Research Paper – final draft – with copies of rough drafts attached – due 1/15 Final draft should be proof read twice – once by an adult and once by a student – and signed Refer to rubric Storyboard/science fair presentations during class period in library-on Friday 1/22 See sample storyboard See what are the judges looking for Local STEM fair – Kent State Saturday Jan 23; 9-12 judging; 2:30 Awards Contact Mrs King if you have a school conflict on January 23, and you may arrange to be judged on Friday Jan 22 at Kent State. Please note, Friday evening participants are not eligible to be promoted to NEOSEF
