5. PEACE NEGOTIATIONS:
Camp David Accords—1979
Ends war between EGYPT and ISRAEL
Egyptian president ANWAR SADAT becomes first Arab leader to visit and recognize the Jewish state (he was assassinated by Muslim extremists )
Oslo Agreement—1993:
Israel agreed to GRANT PALESTINIANS SELF-RULE IN GAZA STRIP & WEST BANK.
This was not achieved and Israeli leader Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated by Jewish extremist.
Road Map—2003:
Internationally devised peace plan that seeks 2 SEPARATE PEACEFUL STATES
