5. Residency Restrictions
F.S.- states for any offender who has been previously convicted of a crime committed on or after October 1, 1995 in violation of Chapter 794, s , s , or s , and is subject to conditional release supervision, shall have the following condition (relating to bus stops) imposed by the Florida Commission on Offender Review (FCOR):
Immediately upon your release from prison to conditional release, you shall provide your Conditional release supervisor a residence plan, which must include an address where you plan to reside temporarily or permanently that complies with the 1,000 feet condition which states that you shall not live or loiter within 1,000 feet, or work for pay or as a volunteer at, a school, day care center, park, playground, designated public school bus stop, restaurant with attached playground, amusement park, business establishment whose primary clients are children, or other place(s) where children regularly congregate.

Prohibits Florida Commission on Offender Review (FCOR) & Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) from approving a residence for a releasee which is located within in a 1000 feet of designated public school bus stops
Prohibits the school boards from establishing school bus stops within 1000’ of the residence of person prohibited from living within 1000’ of a school bus stop

Requires FDC to notify each school district within a specified time period of the location of the residence of a sexual offender who is subject to conditional release supervision;
When are notices sent?
A new address has been verified
An offender moves
A case is closed
Offender is “Dually Active”- Probation/CC and CRS
Per Florida Statute, Supervision is deferred to Probation.

Notification of Residence
Notification of Vacated Residence
Notification that Offender is No Longer Under the Supervision of the Department

9. Processes
Inmates submit addresses for investigation of compliance with residency restrictions.
The address is sent to the field to be investigated by a local Probation Officer.
State Statue- 1000’
County & Local Ordinances- up to 2500’
Some Ordinances include Bus Stop Prohibitions- There is NO DOE responsibility to these cases.
School Bus Stops- 1000’
Probation Officers check against Sex Offender Residence Restrictions (SORR) Application.
Pilot (1) Florida County has a Esri compatible School Bus Stops with mapped school bus stops.
Probation Officers must contact the School Board Districts or use designated GIS applications to locate Bus Stops.
Verification during school breaks- Winter, Summers, extended holidays.

Once verified, the notices are generated and sent out via .
Audited on an annual basis.
Verification once an error on a closed account.
Encourage a generic address for School Bus Stop notifications
