Write a news report on the Battle of Saratoga. Directions: Use your notes and the book to write a news report on the Battle of Saratoga as if you were there. You must include: (Check off each part as you complete it) A catchy introduction: get the reader interested. For example: “Extra! Extra! The firs major battle of the Revolution has started.” 5-7 sentences discussing: The key people (leaders) The location The sides Events of the battle (be sure to include Burgoyne’s plan) The winner A reaction: what is your personal reaction to the event? Choose a side loyalist or patriot. (same side as the first one) A conclusion: a catchy way to end the report. For example: “That is the way to start a revolution.”
