Mathematical Practices
Number sense ~ (quick recap) fractions, factorization, decimals
Ratios, rates & percent ~ proportional relationships
Algebraic thinking ~ rational numbers, working with expressions and linear equations
Geometry ~ scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, and working with 2d and 3d shapes to solve problems involving area, surface area, and volume

5. Student Resources MATHia® Software Access
Software companion to textbook
One day per week during class, and one hour per week for homework.
Customized lessons based on their needs
Carnegie Learning Series
Consumable, which means kids can write in them!
Books kept at school.

6. Homework
Most of the time homework will be 1 hour of Mathia per week. Sometimes we will have additional homework.
Missed worked needs to be made up.

7. Grading Assessments are 80% (mastery of standards)
Practice is 20% (Classwork and Homework)
Check grades on Parent Vue each week
Check online agenda for daily assignments.

8. (Zeroes Aren’t Permitted)
Assigned by teachers for missing assignments
Every Wednesday afterschool from 2:00-3:30
Parents will be notified ahead of time & will need to pick up child promptly at 3:30
