Reflexology is an alternative therapy used for bringing healing and balance to the body and the various systems of the body, including the digestive, lymphatic, endocrine, Respiratory, Reproductive and immune systems. A practitioner of reflexology applies pressure to a reflex point on the foot, hands and ears which sends a signal via the nervous system for the body to relax and heal. Reflexology has no side effects and is used to strengthen the body as a whole. Reflexology is based on the premise that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to all parts of the body and that stimulating these reflexes brings about physiological changes. Reflexology is an ancient healing technique, and evidence that reflexology was first practiced around 2500 to 2300 B.C. was found in the form of carvings on the wall of the tomb of an Egyptian doctor. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Function Reflexology works on the principle that by applying pressure to certain reflex areas on the hands, foot or ears, to balance can be restored to the body. Reflexology seeks to recondition the nerves to send signals to various parts of the body. It aims to persuade the body to correct and heal itself. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Process A reflexology patient is made to get comfortable while various parts of the feet are pressed. The foot has a map of the body over it, each area relating to a different endocrine glands & organ. The Reflexologist will touch and press those areas for a certain amount of time to send signals to the body to work that endocrine glands & organs. This improves the blood, lymphatic and nerve supply to that organs, which facilitates healing and health in that part of the body. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Effects Reflexology creates bioelectricity flow in all endocrine glands & organs, and this bioelectricity supplies correct the functioning of the organ. This alleviates stress on the heart and supplies energy to the body. The lymphatic system cleanses the body, so this aspect helps to clear the body of toxic buildup, helping to keep the body healthy. Through this cleansing and influx of blood and nutrition, all systems of the body are improved. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Benefits Reflexology supports all systems of the body and, therefore, improves the digestive, reproductive, respiratory, lymphatic, immune and endocrine systems. This helps the body to function at optimum levels and helps prevent illness. Reflexology supports the body's own ability to correct and heal itself. It is a gentle, noninvasive form of healing that works to bring balance to the whole body so that imbalances and illness can be naturally resolved. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Treatment Reflexology may be used to alleviate discomfort from any number of immediate ailments, including, headaches, premenstrual syndrome, menstrual cramps, indigestion, constipation, and chest and sinus congestion, among other things. When treatments are received on a regular basis, they will strengthen and reinforce the whole body, making it useful for treating low immunity, digestive problems, depression, respiratory, endocrine, reproductive problems, and fatigue. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Improved Memory Because oxygen is required to keep the cells of the body in a healthy state, foot, hands and ears reflexology can help to deliver vital oxygen to brain cells. Stimulation of the brain reflexes on the feet, hands and ears improves circulation of blood & bioelectricity to the head. Foot reflexology, when administered routinely, will help improve a forgetful mind. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Regularity Foot, hands and ears reflexology can bring balance when constipation is an issue. Stimulation of the intestine, colon and other corresponding reflexes can make elimination easier and return it to a normal state. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Reduction of Pain Foot, hands and ears reflexology is effective for pain management. When reflexology is applied to the feet, hands and ears more endorphins are produced to block pain signals to the brain. Endorphins are painkillers that are stronger than morphine. People who are experiencing pain may get significant relief through reflexology. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Improved Circulation Reflexology can improve blood circulation in the feet and throughout the body. The gentle stroking of the feet and the application of certain hand and finger techniques improves Blood flow to vital organs. Blood delivers oxygen and nutrients to these organs, nourishing body tissues. If a part of the body is injured, foot reflexology can help repair the injured tissue. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,

Relaxation Foot reflexology is effective in bringing about a deep state of relaxation. The solar plexus is the nerve center where stress is stored. When the solar plexus reflex point is pressed, it is as if all of the stress in the body is eliminated. Because stress can greatly affect the immune system and leave one vulnerable to serious illnesses such as cancer, it is important to relieve it. Reflexology can help in this way. Dr. S. S. Ravi ,
