3. History
Heinrich Herz discovered and first produced radio waves in 1888 and by 1894 the modern way to send a message over telegraph wires was first conducted.   Marconi sent and received signals up to two miles using radio waves. Marconi became known as the “father of radio”. In 1901 he was able to transmit across the Atlantic Ocean.
During World War II, the United States Army first used radio signals for data transmission.  This inspired a group of researchers in 1971 at the University of Hawaii to create the first packet based radio communications network called ALOHNET.  ALOHNET was the very first wireless local area network (WLAN). This first WLAN consisted of 7 computers that communicated in a bi-directional star topology

4. Introduction
If you want to make a call from your phone or if you want to check your from your any wireless device, if you want to receive a message in your pager, if you want to make data portable and if you don’t want to have cable problems than all you need is Wireless network.

5. Types of Wireless Networks
There are 5 main wireless networks categories:
1.System interconnection (Bluetooth)
2.Wireless PANs
3.Wireless LANs
4.Wireless MANs
5.Wireless WANs

6. The Wireless Networks Components:
Wireless station:
Access Point:
It is mostly used in laptop, notebook personal computer, desktop PC, barcode scanneretc.
This functions as a base station for wireless network. Theoretical ranges of wireless LAN are from 29 meters (for 11 Mbps) in a closed office area to 485 meters (for 1 Mbps) in an open area.

7. Wireless Standards:
All standard area that is developed for wireless network have his own author, it is the IEEE or electrical and electronics engineers Inc. IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional associates of more than 360,000 individual members, which in approximately 175 countries is an authority in technical areas.

8. Comparing Wireless LAN with Wireless WAN:
The difference between Wireless LAN and Wireless WAN is that,a wireless wide area network (Wireless WAN), covers a much more extensive area than wireless LANs. The coverage of wireless network is offered on a nationwide level with wireless network infrastructure provided by a wireless service carrier. Wireless LANs allows network to the users within a small fixed area, while wireless WANs provides Internet connectivity over a much broader coverage area even for mobile users such as business travelers or field service technicians.

9. Wireless Networks Security:
With the good, always comes the other part: the bad. Our job is to face with it, because we can’t just close our eyes and think that it will disappears.

10. Conclusion
Wireless networking has proven to be very useful in public places – libraries, guest houses, hotels, cafeterias, universities and organizations are all places where one might find wireless access to the Internet.
