1 The Pomo tribe By Julissa

2 Location It was cool and wet in the Northwest part of California.
Their area went from the Pacific Ocean inland to Clear Lake. Some communities were made from several villages. The redwood forest along the Pacific coast are grassy foothills.

3 Food The Pomo tribe used their natural resources to find them food.
The Pomo had found fish, shellfish, seaweed, seals, and sea lions from the ocean. The Pomo Indians mostly gathered their food from plants, such as seeds, nuts, and berries. Fish , deer, and rabbit were there meal of their choice.

4 Shelter The homes of the Pomo tribe protected them from the environment. The Pomo Natives lived in large communities. In the Pomo Natives there were several types of houses built by the Pomo depending on where they lived. The Pomo built cone-shaped houses of poles covered with slabs of redwood bark.

5 Culture The culture of the Pomo tribe was unique and interesting.
The Pomo baskets are considered by many to be the finest in the world - some are made from feathers. Two part singing in common: one sings the melody while another called the "rock, "keeps the rhythm. Tattooing of body face and body were common.
