Outline Global Warming Causes of global warming
effects of global warming Solutions

Global warming Global warming is the rise in the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere. Earth's mean surface temperature has increased by about 0.8 °C (1.4 °F) The temperature rise due to increasing in greenhouse gases. water vapor, carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O) and ozone (O3)
4
Natural Causes of global warming
created by nature: One natural cause is a release of methane gas which is a greenhouse gas. A greenhouse gas is a gas that traps heat in the earth's atmosphere Another natural cause is that the earth goes through a cycle of climate change. This climate change usually lasts about 40,000 years.
5
Man-made Causes Man-made causes do the most damage: 1. Pollution:
is the biggest problem_ Pollution comes in many shapes and sizes. 2. Fossil fuels : burned they give off a green house gas called CO2. 3. mining coal and oil allows methane to escape 4. population: More food- more transportation- more CO2
6
Effects of Global Warming
already happening: Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the Earth’s poles. Sea level rise became faster over the last century. some butterflies, foxes, and alpine plants have moved farther north or to higher, cooler areas Precipitation (rain and snowfall) has increased across the globe, on average
7
Effects of Global Warming
Other effects could happen later this century, if warming continues: Sea levels are expected to rise between 18 and 59 centimeters by the end of the century, and continued melting at the poles could add between 10 to 20 centimeters. Hurricanes and other storms are likely to become stronger. Species that depend on one another may become out of sync. For example, plants could bloom earlier than their pollinating insects become active. Floods and droughts will become more common. Rainfall in Ethiopia, where droughts are already common, could decline by 10 percent over the next 50 years. Less fresh water will be available. If the ice cap in Peru continues to melt at its current rate, it will be gone by 2100 Some diseases will spread, such as malaria carried by mosquitoes.
8
Solutions Replacing the fossil fuel into a clean energy like solar energy Reducing the use of energy stop adding carbon dioxide to the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. reduce environmental pollution Reduce the use of transports use well-insulated buildings
9
Conclusion Global warming is the rise in the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere. release of methane gas and earth goes through a cycle of climate change are the natural causes Pollution, fossil fuels ,and high population are the man cause of global warming There are many of effects that happened already like melting ice.
