2 TSA: Mission and Membership
TSA Mission Statement: The Technology Student Association enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in STEM, whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intracurricular activities, competitions, and related programs. Since 1978, almost 4,000,000 middle and high school students have participated in TSA programs and activities. Current TSA membership: Over 250,000 student members 75% college bound 39% female and/or minority 100% likely to graduate high school

Features of the national TSA conference: Provides a national hands-on venue for students to learn about and apply STEM skills; Ensures expert judging by STEM educators and industry representatives; Students compete individually or in teams; Winning finalists receive awards, as well as all the memories and challenges of a national TSA conference.

Qualifying teams compete in 3 competitions to win Best in Nation honors: Essay Prepared Presentation Design/Build All competitions and scenarios are focused on the theme, “Engineering the Environment.”
