CRC Overview

2 What is the CRC? CRC = Chapters Regional Conference
A CRC is a meeting of the Chapter’s Regional Committee (Chapter Del & Alt, and Region I EXCOM) The CRC Serves these 3 main purposes: Nominations Motions Training

Social Networking Chapter Reports Regional Reports Society Reports Society Visitors – 2 way communications Technical Education – Tech Sessions & Tours Recognition (awards)

Motions brought forward Chapter year end reports as requested All PAOE Points submitted on Web Site Committee Chairs educated about CRC and encouraged to attend their workshop

Golden Gavel – Best Overall Chapter Performance Most Improved Chapter Performance Black Ink – Best Newsletter PAOE – For achieving the different levels of PAOE awards Technology Awards Committee Awards Membership Promotion Research Promotion Student Activities Programs History

12 Motions Motions are the best way to effect change in ASHRAE.
Two types of motions: Society Motions - If passed, get forwarded to appropriate Society Council, Committee, etc. Regional Motions – If passed, stay in the Region Motions are carefully prepared in advance of the CRC, submitted during the First Business Meeting, and then considered in later Business Meetings.

13 Nominations Society Level Nominations Regional Level Nominations
Candidates considered during the “Caucus” Voting occurs at the “Executive Session” The Caucus & Executive Session are “closed door” sessions with results not publically announced at the CRC.

14 Successful CRC’s Are well attended by all the Chapters
Have all chapters bring forward candidates for nominations. Have all chapters bring forward motions to effect positive change in ASHRAE. Have all workshops attended by the actual chapter committee chairs & officers. Are Educational & FUN!
