10. Reading Proficiency
One point for each percent of students who score at or above FCAT 2.0 Achievement Level 3 in reading and each percent of students who score FAA Performance Level 4 in reading.

11. Mathematics Proficiency
2. One point for each percent of students who score at or above Achievement Level 3 on FCAT 2.0, statewide EOC assessments in mathematics, or at or above Performance Level 4 on the FAA in mathematics.
: This will include Algebra I EOC

If a student has both an FCAT and EOC score, or two EOC scores the higher score is used.

12. Writing Proficiency
3. One point for each percent of students who score “4.0” or higher on he FCAT Writing Assessment or Level 4 or higher on the FAA Writing Assessment.

13. Science Proficiency
4. One point for each percent of students who score at or above Achievement Level 3 on FCAT 2.0, statewide EOC assessments in science, or Level 4 or higher on the FAA Science Assessment.
Beginning in Biology EOC will be used.

14. Learning Gains in Reading
5. One point for each percent of students who make annual learning gains in reading
Learning gains are made by maintaining a 3, 4 or 5 ; increasing an Achievement Level, or making more than one year’s growth (see table)

6. One point for each percent of students who make annual learning gains in mathematics
Learning gains are made by maintaining a 3, 4 or 5; increasing an Achievement Level, or making more than one year’s growth (see table)

16. Learning Gains Mathematics Continued….
Learning gains for Algebra 1 EOC assessment:
increase an Achievement Level from prior year FCAT mathematics score
maintain an Achievement Level of 3, 4, or 5 as compared to prior year FCAT mathematics score
for students remaining at Achievement Level 1 or 2, increase in the student’s common scales

17. Learning Gains for Reading and Mathematics
For students taking FAA & who maintained the same FAA Performance Level below Performance Level 4: if the current-year score increases relative to the prior-year score by more than the statewide standard error of the difference of the two scores
Additional weighting of 0.1 is credited for increasing one or more levels to a level 4
Additional weighting of 0.2 is credited for increasing one or more levels to a level 5

18. Lowest Quartile Reading
7. One point for each percent of students in the lowest twenty-five percent in reading making a learning gain
Students scoring level 3, 4 or 5 and in the lowest quartile will be removed.

19. Lowest Quartile Mathematics
8. One point for each percent of students in the lowest twenty-five percent in mathematics making a learning gain
Students scoring level 3, 4 or 5 and in the lowest quartile will be removed.

21. Middle School Acceleration
One point for each percent of students who participate in statewide high school EOC assessments, and beginning in industry certifications (50 points)
Numerator: Students participating in EOC
Denominator: 8th graders who score 3 or higher on 7th grade FCAT 2.0 Math +
6th and 7th graders who took the EOC and were enrolled in the appropriate course

22. Middle School Acceleration
9. One point for each percent of students who score at level 3 or higher on statewide EOC assessments and industry certifications (50 points)
Students scoring Level 3 or higher on more than one exam are credited with a 0.1 weighting
Students earning a Level 3 or higher in middle schools “bank” those scores and they are applied to the future high school calculation.

23. Middle School Civics
: Middle schools will receive one point for each percent of students who score at or above Achievement Level 3 on the Civics EOC assessment (100 points)

25. High School Acceleration
10. Graduation Rate: The graduation rate will be a combination of two different rates: a) A four-year Federal Uniform Rate b) A five-year Federal Uniform Rate including Special Diplomas Combined 200 points. 11. At-Risk Graduation threshold for an A reduced to 65%

26. Annual Growth
Increase of zero (0) to 4 points = no additional points for annual growth.
ii. Increase of 5 to 9 points = 5 additional points for annual growth.
iii. Increase of 10 or more points = 10 additional points for growth.

27. High School US History
Beginning in , one point for each percent of students scoring at or above achievement level 3 (100 points)
NOTE: This same year the acceleration and participation for advanced courses will both change from 150 points each to 100 points each

29. School Grading Scales Elementary: Unchanged Middle and K- 8:
590 and above = A
= B
559 – 490 = C
489 – 445 = D
444 and below = F
In this scale will change again increasing approximately 65 points for each cut off.
High School: Unchanged

30. Recent Amendments
Inclusion of SWD and ELL who have been in the US one year or more will not count toward the reading and math proficiency.
Use of the 2011 Science FCAT for the High School component
25% proficiency in reading as a threshold for a passing grade.
