1 Learning Chinese Numbers
You will learn the Chinese numbers from one to twelve first, then take a quiz to see if you know which number is which! Once you know the Chinese numbers. It will be easy to learn the days of the week and months of the year too.     Because the Days of the week are numbered on through six only. With a special name for Sunday. And Months of the year are numbered one through twelve.

3 The first three 1, 2, 3 are VERY easy to remember.
一 Pinyin: yi (pronounced like ee), only one stroke. can you guess of what will be for two? 二 Pinyin: er (pronounced like are), yep! two strokes. so three will be? 三   Pinyin: san Haha, you are right! three strokes.

9 Five is 五 wu (pronounced woo)
The number 5 (五, Pinyin: wŭ) is associated with the five elements (Water, Fire, Earth, Wood, and Metal) in Chinese philosophy. Five Junk Boats

12 Seven is 七 Pinyin: qī Seven looks like an upside down seven 七 chi (rhymes with tea) The number 7 symbolizes "togetherness". It is also recognized as the best number in the West. It is a lucky number in Chinese culture, because it sounds alike to the Chinese character 起 (Pinyin: qǐ) meaning arise.

13 Seven is 七 Pinyin: qī looks like an upside down seven 七 chi

14 Eight is 八 ba (like ba ba black sheep)
Do you still remember six, 六 liu ? 八 has two strokes, same as the lower part of 六. So take the 亠 out of 六 is 八 ba. See八 ba black sheep below:

15 Nine is 九 jiu (pronounced like Joe)
Like 7 七 and 8 八, 9 九 has two strokes. the number 9 九is a homophone of the word for "longlasting" (久), and as such is often used in weddings. 9 tigers

16 Ten 十 shi (pronouned like shuh)
Like 7 七 and 8 八, 9 九, Ten 十 has two strokes as well. 十 shi looks likes a cross. 10 cross
