4 CNES develops a national platform for access to the Sentinel data
Copernicus Sentinels data policy decided by the European Commission: free and open ESA in charge, for the EC, to develop the infrastructures to access Sentinel data Each European member state has the opportunity to deploy a self funded dissemination platform for Sentinel data (mirror site) ESA provide privileged access to every country In 2014, CNES decided PEPS with a twofold objective: To facilitate access to system products To offer computing capacity close to the data 3 years ago - Due to the huge supposed success of the Copernicus program EC offer to Member States to complement the Copernicus ground segment by adding new components in a collaborative mode In particular the mirror sites must allow the dissemination of data on the MS national territory in the frame of the Copernicus data policy
