13 Consideration on 3GPP’s LTE-Advanced Requirements, Spectrum and Technology
Wider bandwidth up to 100 MHz In order to achieve 1 Gbps data speed, spectrum bandwidth should be extended up to 100MHz. Scalable bandwidth The scalable bandwidth should be supported considering a variety of spectrum availability in each region/country and support of LTE terminals. LTE based technologies with higher performance For W-CDMA/LTE operators, IMT-Advanced should be LTE basis for smooth introduction on top. The performance should be higher than that of LTE. TR “ Requirements for Further Advancements for E-UTRA (LTE-Advanced) ” are based on the following concepts: LTE-Advanced is an evolution of LTE All relevant requirements of LTE are valid also for LTE-Advanced LTE-Advanced shall meet or exceed IMT-Advanced requirements within the ITU-R time plan
