Presentation on theme: "He Is Risen! He is risen indeed!"— Presentation transcript:

He Is Risen! He is risen indeed!
The resurrection of Christ announces that He has conquered every enemy. He has vanquished every foe David Martyn Lloyd-Jones April 16, 2017 He is risen indeed!

Matthew 28:1-10

1 Peter 3-9

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Salvation – Born Again MacLaren - Salvation has in it the double idea of being made safe, and being made sound. The man that needs to be saved needs to be rescued from peril and needs to be healed of a disease.

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Hope Always in the N. T., in a good sense: expectation of good, and in the Christian sense, joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation

1 Peter 1:4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,

Imperishable Uncorrupted, not liable to or able to suffer corruption or decay.

Undefiled Not defiled, unsoiled; free from that by which the nature of a thing is deformed and debased, or its force and vigor impaired

Unfading Perpetual, permanent, not able to fade away

1 Peter 1:4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,

1 Peter 1:5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Peter 1:6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,

1 Peter 1:7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:8-9 Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

1 Corinthians 15:3-6 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time…

Romans 8:9-10 …if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

For Our Consideration What else could possibly explain the disciple’s new found fearlessness after the cross? Are you born again to a living hope? What do you think the inheritance is that is guarded by our Father in heaven? Is there anything that we should fear in light of the Resurrection of our Lord?

Prayer Focus Thank You Lord for the glorious Resurrection Thank You Lord for forgiveness, redemption, and an eternal promise Thank You Lord for new life that can begin today
