1 The data-logger for computers and CASIO Graphical calculators
CLab The data-logger for computers and CASIO Graphical calculators

2 CLab An easy-to-use, portable data-logger for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education that can be used with: CASIO Graphic Calculators, or PC or MAC computers in the field and in the classroom.

3 CLab package USB Power Adapter for powering CLAB and charging its battery USB cable for connecting CLAB to the computer or to the delivered USB power adapter BT01 Temperature sensor ( °C) BT02 Voltage sensor ( V) User’s Quick Start Guide

4 Analog BT Sensors Inputs
Two semicircle status LEDs Surround the power button Power Button Analog BT Sensors Inputs 1, 2, 3, for connecting sensors Calculator 3-pin Port for communication with CASIO Graphic Calculators Mini USB Port for connecting to a USB cable for charging or for communication with computer

5 Technical specifications
Processors: PIC32MZ (512 kB SRAM) Memory: 2 GB Flash Power: Rechargeable battery / USB Power Adapter ADC resolution: 12 bits Sampling frequency: max MHz (via one channel) Sensor Inputs: 3 analog BT sensor inputs Built-in sensors: 3-axis Accelerometer ( 2 g,  4 g,  8 g) Calculator connection: 3-pin port for communication to CASIO Graphic Calculators Computer connection: Mini USB port (also for powering)

6 Sensors CMA and Vernier (analog) BT sensors can be connected to CLAB sensor inputs.

7 Motion Detector CMA the Motion Detector BT55i has an analog BT (right-handed) plug and can be directly connected to CLAB.

8 CLAB with a computer Via the provided USB cable CLAB can be connected to a USB port of a PC or a MAC computer and work as a lab interface.

9 CLAB with a computer The Coach program running on the computer controls CLAB. The collected data are transferred to the computer and the measurement can be followed and analyzed on the computer.

10 Coach 7 Experiment description Graph Active sensors (Auto ID)

11 Coach 7 Easy way of adapting the measurement settings
Easy experiment setup with automatic sensor detection Many measurement runs Precalibrated sensors with possibility for recalibrating

12 Coach 7 Lite and Coach 7 Coach 7 Lite Coach 7 Free with CLAB
Installation with password after registration via CMA website Offers Measurements with CLAB Has a limited number of analysis and processing tools Allows to open Coach 7 Measurement Activities Allows to save Coach 7 Results Coach 7 School license fee Installation with password Offers Measurements, Control, Data Video and Modeling Has advanced analysis and processing tools Access to CMA data base with many ready-to-go Teaching Resources Allows creating new and modifying existing Coach 7 Activities (Author mode)

13 CLAB with CASIO Graphic Calculators
CLAB can be used with CASIO Graphic Calculators on which the E-CON software is installed, such as CASIO fx-CG Series, fx-9860GII Series or ClassPad II (fx-CP400).

14 CLAB with CASIO Graphic Calculators
When connected to a calculator CLAB is controlled by the E-CON software running on the calculator. The collected data are transferred to the calculator and the measurement can be followed and analyzed on the calculator. E-CON for ClassPad II and CG-20 *You can also create your own basic programs to control C-Lab

15 E-Con 3 In the Main-Window you are able to setup the C-Lab.
There is also an opportunity to convert programs for older Calculators and Interfaces. q (SET) Setup the C-Lab (Sensor, Time, Interval,…) r (START) Start the logging y (GRAPH) Setup and show the graph

16 Fast Setup with „Wizard“
q Setup Now you can select: Wizard q Advanced (Detailed Setup) w Select a sensor Setup the total time of logging Save your setup (w) or… …start the logging (q)

17 Detailed Setup q Setup Choose the „Advanced Setup“ (w), for a detailed setup Channel Select the sensors and channels Sample Interval, Time and mode Trigger Select the trigger how to start logging Graph Setup the graphic window Custom Probe Create own sensors Initialize Reset E-CON3

18 Setup Channel Channel Up to three sensors can be used simoultanously. If you use a single sensor please use channel 1.

19 Setup Sample Sample Mode: The mode influences the interval
Interval: Time between two values Number: Amount of values

20 Evaluation with the „Statistic“ app – CG-20
After logging you´ll see the graph: I for more options w (LMEM) to save values as lists The data is now copied into lists, and are accessible via the Statistic app of the CG-20

21 Evaluation with Spreadsheet
After export as lists (LMEM) you also have the possibility to import lists in the „Spreadsheet“-App of the CG-20. F6 – and then - RECALL F1 – LIST Choose the List #

22 Export as .csv You find a „csv“ – option in the Spreadsheet application to export to your desktop PC.
