2 Before interpreting the electrocardiogram, what is one important preliminary step?

3 Standardization 1 mV = 10 mm
At proper standardization, 10 small boxes high will be equivalent to 10 mm. The standard paper speed will be 25 mm/sec, making one small box equivalent to 0.04 seconds.

4 Boxes 1 big box = 0.2 seconds or 5 mm 1 big box = 0.2 sec
1 small box = 0.04 seconds or 1 mm

5 Boxes 1 big box = 0.2 seconds or 5 mm 1 small box = 0.04 sec
1 small box = 0.04 seconds or 1 mm
