4. Office Mix Recording Audio & Video Audio Only Video Only No Audio
or Video
Mix allows for several types of recording. You can record: Audio & Video, Audio only, Video only and lastly, No audio or video- this is a great feature if you would like to record just animations, just inking or just blank time on the slide.
Regardless of how you choose to record, you can always add animations or inking.

To begin make sure you’re in the PowerPoint Mix ribbon and select the ‘Slide Recording’ button in the far left corner. This will launch record mode.

To select different ink colors
Before you begin recording, here are a few keyboard shortcut keys that you may find useful: F9 to begin recording, Spacebar to advance to the next slide and number keys 1 – 9 quickly allow you to select an ink color while recording.

To begin an audio recording in mix, first select your audio input from the dropdown. Next, record a quick test recording to ensure proper volume and sound quality.

After you’ve made any needed adjustments to your audio quality, delete the test recording by selecting the ‘Delete Slide Recording’ button here. You are now ready to begin recording audio.

During recording you can either pause or stop your recording at any time.

After you’ve made any needed adjustments to your recording setup, you are now ready to begin recording video.

Again, you can preview as well as delete your recording.
Once you are satisfied with your video recording or to exit at any time, select the ‘Close’ button.

You are now back in standard PowerPoint slide view. Here you can adjust and edit the size and placement of your video and ink and it is also possible to trim the beginning or end of either your mix audio or video recordings. This is really useful when there’s a long silence or your video captured you looking down or reaching across your camera to stop the recording.

Select either the video or the audio file on your slide. You will now see a new tab in PowerPoint called ‘Playback’. Select that tab and now select the ‘trim’ button.

Play the video in the dialog to determine where to move the sliders. Move the green slider to where you would like your video to begin. Adjust the red slider to where you would like your video to end. Select ‘OK’ when you are satisfied.
This technique works best when you record your audio and video one slide at a time vs. continuously recording your slides.
