5 History 2013 2008 2006 1996 1982 1976 1925 1871 Carl Heinrich Hellmann founds the company in Osnabrueck. Hellmann is one of the first companies to successfully replace their horse-drawn fleet with coal-powered trucks in Germany. Hellmann becomes a founding member of the parcel system service (DPD). Hellmann opens their first Asian office in Hong Kong. Hellmann celebrates its 125th anniversary with a global network of 341 branches in 134 countries. Hellmann receives the coveted „Award of Excellence“ from the Global Institute of Logistics. The „Speicher III“ building opens in Osnabrueck and wins the „Best Office Award“. With its rail transport solution "Rail Eurasia" Hellmann starts a weekly railway service connecting Europe and China.
