2 1. Know the Foundation Basics
On 23 February 1905, Paul P. Harris, Gustavus Loehr, Silvester Schiele, and Hiram E. Shorey gathered in Loehr’s office in Chicago for what would become known as the first Rotary club meeting.

3 The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

10 How does a club qualify for a grant?
ANNUAL REQUIREMENTS Attend a Grant Management Seminar Sign & Adhere to Club Memorandum of Understanding. Be current in reporting on all existing Global Grants Agree to & Submit the Signed Club Memorandum of Understanding Addendum Next Seminar May 6 at District Training Assembly (DTA) and May 19 at District Conference

11 DISTRICT GRANTS A single block grant awarded annually for club and district projects Local or international activities Smaller activities and projects Application on district website Due June 1 to Carol Foley, Chair

12 GLOBAL GRANTS Align with an area of focus Have measurable results
Respond to a community need Include active community and Rotarian participation Strengthen knowledge, skills, resources Have long-term, sustainable benefits Have a budget of at least $30,000 Andrew Wade, District Chair

Become knowledgeable about club contribution histories Ensure CFC knows how to access club’s giving record Familiarize CFC with forms and reports Help provide speakers and offer assistance

18 Reporting Provide to the DRFC a quarterly report on your activities with clubs Present a brief quarterly Foundation report to the club beginning with congratulations on their accomplishments to date

19 3. Develop a Partnership with Clubs
Visit clubs quarterly Help clubs learn: RI Goals and Citation Requirements District Priorities How and where to post club goals TRF Forms, Reports and Recognitions Resources

20 RI Presidential Citation Foundation Goals for Clubs
Humanitarian Service- 4 of 9 which include: Sponsor/participate in a polio fundraising event Sponsor at least 1 Global Grant or District Grant project Increase Total Giving by at least 10% Increase mbrs who give $25+ to any TRF fund Attain $100+ per capita to Annual Fund

Every member contributes to TRF Club contributes $1,500+ to PolioPlus At least one member attends Foundation Seminar At least one member attends Foundation Banquet At least one member attends the Grant Management Seminar Attain $150+ per capita to Annual Fund Increase Paul Harris Society, Benefactors, OR Bequest Society members by 1

23 Rotary Club Central Go to and click on “My Rotary” at the top of the page Click “Sign In” at left Sign in with your address and password Scroll down to “Rotary Club Central” under “Online Tools” and click Under the “Foundation Giving” tab, scroll down to “Goals and Progress”

24 On-Line Goal-Posting Tips
Don’t use symbols—no dollar signs, decimal points, and commas If your final Annual Fund Total Goal is not more than your club’s average over last 4 complete years, please reconsider and increase your total by upping “Other”

25 Be sure clubs inform RI of their Club Foundation Chair (CFC) in My Rotary and designate their CFC in DACdb.

26 Set club sights on achieving 100% Foundation Giving and 100% Every Rotarian, Every Year club banners.

Forms: 1.Contribution Form (123-EN) For submitting a single contribution 2.Recognition Transfer Form (102-EN) For requesting any transfer of recognition points 3.Multiple Donor Form (094-EN) For submitting contributions from more than one member 4.Rotary Direct Form (712-EN) For enrolling to make recurring contributions

Miscellaneous Information: 1.“Start” number (July 1 membership) Never changes during year Used to determine club’s per capita giving 2.“End” number (June 30 membership) TRF makes name-by-name check Used to determine 100% Foundation Giving and 100% EREY clubs (see EREY Eligibility Report for club status) Pitfalls abound! Keep donations current with new members

Miscellaneous Information: Recognition Points—Purpose, Allow one person to give, but another to be recognized 1.One point earned for each dollar given 2.“Recognition Level”: Can be mixture of your dollars and another’s points to you 3.Shows in column 4 of your Club Recognition Summary (CRS) 4.PHF multiple level based on this mixture 5.Only dollars count toward Major Donor status
