CFILC will develop and organize around policy that impact long-term funding for ILCs.

Rehab Act Reauthorization
CFILC will invest in the ILC workforce by developing and organizing ILC staff and board
trainings in collaboration with ILCs w/expertise.
Develop a Business Plan – including profit, cost, feasibility, gaps analysis
Develop a Curriculum Board to develop the curriculum and certification/re-certification process
Explore how IL services can be evidence based.
CFILC will explore long-term viability of maintaining a Peer Review System in California.

Partner contracts expired in December and we will not be renewing
We are seeking funding from Frontier through the recently released RFP—funds become available in July.
CFILC is the leader in disability digital access
CETF touts our Digital Access Project as the model that should be replicated
We had to make a lot of adjustments to get here, the original model that depended on partnerships failed, we established relationship with utilities, purchased call center services, and moved funding that we originally expected to go to our partners and to outreach efforts to increase our staffing, and to purchase of hotspots.

Organized over  20 people to give comments on  the need for  IHSS  program  sustainability and
opportunities  to  increase access  through ADRC’s
California State Building Standards Commission:
January 19, 2016 – Sacramento
Organized over 60 people with disabilities to give comments on the need to reactivate the State
Architect’s Access Advisory Committee and to return proposed access standards to the State Architect for
review and modification—3 out of 4 were returned
Department of Motor Vehicles Workshops
January 28, 2016, Sacramento & February 2, 2016 Los Angeles
Over 30 people organized to give comment on need for accessible transportation options, and why
requiring a licensed driver for autonomous cars would make it impossible for people with disabilities to
benefit—DMV heard us—softened on messaging requiring licensure.
Grant ends at the end of September

YO! YouthACT: we are a partner in this national initiative focused on improving transition aged youth outcomes
YO! CareerACCESS: will be collaborating with WID in 2016 to establish a social security pilot project for transition aged youth.
YO! Add Us In: we are a consortium partner with WID on a project funded by DOL-ODEP to increase employment opportunities in small businesses for youth with disabilities. We will be recruiting youth for summer internships.
