2 Events: Book Domino Run
Design a book domino run in the teen area, or the entire library. Use discarded or withdrawn books. Have the teens help with set up and clean up. Record it! Can be part of a larger event (teen lock-in). Reading By Design | Summer 2017 November 3, 2016

3 Events: Fractured Fairy Tale Theatre
Encourage advisory groups to rework a fairy tale into a new and exciting modern story. The teens develop a script. Find actors (this can be a workshop or use a community partner). Have an event to showcase the production. Reading By Design | Summer 2017 November 3, 2016

4 Programs: Franken-zombie Toys
Using old toys either found or donated to create new creatures. Add a STEM element by using LED’s and conductive thread. Go even further by making a video or puppet show with the new creations. Reading By Design | Summer 2017 November 3, 2016

5 Programs – Green Screens
You can make your own green screen! Small enough to fit in your pocket, or even larger with simple materials. Use FREE green screen apps and programs. Entire thing can be teen driven and created. Reading By Design | Summer 2017 November 3, 2016

6 Programs: Living Robots
Easy to get materials, cardboard boxes, markers, etc.. Be sure to start prep early to gather materials. Divide them into groups and have the teams decorate the boxes to look like robot parts. “dress” a team member as a robot. 7 Programs: Zine Workshop
What is a zine? Great way to get experience in design and bookmaking. Show off creative writing skills and interests. Use an active group of teens (TAB) to go over submissions. Workshop day is putting together the zine. Everyone gets a copy of zine. Reading By Design | Summer 2017 November 3, 2016

8 Programs: Maker & DIY Design a bento box.

9 Passive Program Ideas Journaling/Writing (post prompts everyday)
